Scolympics is conducted the CBSE South Cluster Inter School Quiz this year. It was an exciting morning of quizzing. This is a great initiative from the CBSE society to promote general learning, rather than just syllabus based. We applaud the initiative taken by the schools in conducting and participating. The quiz was a general quiz conducted at the Unity Public School, Kotturpuram

Dakshinachitra Heritage Quiz was a big succes this year too. We had 85 teams from 20 city schools. There were 8 teams in the finals.
The Finalists Teams were PSBB main, 3 teams from PSBB KK Nagar , Sishya, Sivaswamy, Churchpark, AMM Matriculation

Here's what's most interesting - Of the 24 kids on the stage, 12 were trained by Scolympics - i.e. they have attended camps or clubs of Scolympics. We feel proud!!

Summer '14 was very eventful for us with the many summer camps we conducted. Our first camp was in March '14 where we did the Quiz camp along with Children's Club, Mylapore. From that we went to schools like PSBB, T Nagar and Kids Central, managing and conducting their Quiz Camps. Then came our annual camp at Gandhi Nagar Club, Adyar. Finally we ended the summer by tying up with The Hindu to conduct a one-day vocabulary camp during their Young World Safari camp. Each camp saw an average of 40 children within the ages of 7 years to 14 years. This year we introduced new material and formats in our Quiz sessions - the most popular one being the newspaper rounds where kids were made to read a daily newspaper and then Quiz was conducted on that.

Scolympics has successfully set up and is conducting after-school quiz clubs in many schools around Chennai. We currently work with well know schools like Chettinad Vidyashram and Kids Central. This year we are setting up Quiz clubs in estemeed schools like Vidya Mandir, Mylapore, Church Park and the Vel cohort of schools. The increase in the interest in Quizzing is very heartening and uplifting!

November 16th 2013 | Dakshinachitra, Chennai

Scolympics conducted the Dakshinachitra Children’s Heritage Quiz in November. The event saw 74 teams – 222 children participating from various schools in and around Chennai. The quiz competition included multiple rounds focusing on various topics including general knowledge, current affairs, audio - visual rounds, ‘Identify this artifact’, a round on culture & heritage etc. It was a great experience for the children who participated in the quiz competition.

Summer Camp 2013

May 6th - 10th | Gandhi Nagar Club, Adayar Chennai

A fun filled and exciting summer camp concluded in May with almost 50 kids registering. The children were of mixed age groups which made it more exciting in the Quizzing rounds. The Speller sessions were very informative for the kids. The grand finale saw the children themselves becoming Quiz Masters!

3rd Feb 2013 | Chinmaya Heritage Centre

Speller 2013 saw a total of about 320 kids registering across both the tracks – Speller 1 and 2. The event was kicked off with a welcome by Hema Srinivas. Ananthakrishnan - SCB, Head - Training, Compliance India & South Asia was chief guest at the event. Our wizard, Padma Chandrasekaran, was also present at the opening session. Winners got to take home goody bags in addition to their prize money!
